For a new manager in an organization or manpower outsourcing company, it can be a mixed state of thrill and stress to perform well and lead a successful team. Being a manager in a company or manpower outsourcing firm is not easy for everyone but there are certain things which new managers should avoid to ensure that they succeed in the position which they have earned for themselves.

In this article, Ms. Kanika Kohli Mahajan CEO Trendsetters Facilities & Technical Services (TFTS) talks about things new managers must avoid in order to ensure that their team works more efficiently and is considered to be productive while performing their work.

Changing Or Altering Processes Immediately

For new managers in a company or manpower outsourcing firm, it is quite often are being scrutinized by both their team and the top management, it is critical that they should get off on the right foot. New managers should avoid altering processes that have been long established right off the bat, and just to assert their newfound authority role might be quite tempting. But changing processes that have long worked well that too to establish their power status should not be the way to go. Doing This may upset the productivity and working drift of the team and leads to showcase the new manager to be an incapable manager. Instead, what is recommended is that new managers should start by focusing on earning the trust of their team members first, observing the laid procedures then suggest alternations.

Avoid Doing Micromanagement

Avoid trying to micromanage their team for new managers is highly recommended. The newly appointed manager may work towards earning the trust of his or her team in a company or manpower outsourcing firm and in return, should be trusting their team works smoothly. It is true that no one likes to be micromanaged and it is best to stay away from getting into this, instead of working should be focused on developing a positive team spirit.

Maintaining Balance Between Friendship And Professionalism

In an organization, a new manager should avoid being too friendly with their team. A manager should act as a coach and mentor for the team to ensure they perform well and in sync with organization goals. Sometimes criticism is required to help team members achieve the desired outcomes. It becomes difficult for managers when they tend to be the team’s best pal in the case when professional results are expected. Only being professional that is managing the balance between being friendly and being professional is the way out to get expected results.

Stay Grounded At Ease With Yourself

It is recommended that new managers in their newfound positions should avoid changing their personality and just not let one’s head high minded due to being in a higher position. Being snob won’t help the new manager much in earning the respect of their team. A successful new manager instead should be empathetic towards their team and consider being in a responsible new position so that it doesn’t create internal and external conflicts.

Avoid Being Too Prideful

Last but not least, new managers should consider asking for help or support as and when they need it. Letting false self-pride to get in the way of asking for help when facing a challenging situation is inane. New managers should realize that their superiors seem to respect and expect them in high regard when you ask them how to deal with a tough situation rather than handling the situation badly that too just to save one’s ego.

It is similar to being on a new job, new managers in their newer role have to face in a challenging transition and seeking help when it is required to professionally and personally, grow, learn, and become improved. It is proving that they have earned this new position in which they are in and also focus on getting things are done in the most efficient and effective way.

By ensuring to avoid these above things, new managers can rest sure that they leave a positive outlook.
